As the holiday season approaches, we prepare ourselves for those awful gifts that require us to put on a brave face and show gratitude. Many people think money in a gift card or voucher is a disappointment, but it’s always better to let the recipient choose the gift than give them something that will be hidden away at the back of a closet.

Many of us have at some point received Granny’s knitted bundle. It doesn’t matter if it’s a scarf so long it reaches the floor, or a hideous sweater with teddies all over it.
