The damage that can be done to pipes

Pipes are not the most fragile of things. They are expected to carry so much stuff in them that they need to be a little robust by their very nature. Gases, feed’s, liquids, all types of substances and material’s pass through a pipe. However, sadly they can crack and rupture which is why it’s a good idea to invest in some Pipe protectors from https://www.meterbox.co.uk/pipe-protectors. What can cause this potentially catastrophic issue to happen.

The first and most common issue is that of temperature changes. Heat will make the plastic tubing become more sensitive to the soil around it but cold is the worst. This is especially true in terms of those pipes that transfer liquid. If there is any fluid left in the pipe then the cold sets in and expands. This puts tremendous pressure on the pipes structural integrity and it can easily make them split and rupture.

The other reasons include extreme pressure from the soil but this should already be covered by the pipes construction strength and would be an initial error. One less common cause for pipe problems is that of an earthquake which is thankfully a regular occurence of any magnitude in the UK, although they do happen.
