Noises your boiler might make

Modern day boilers are a lot quieter than their older counterparts but every boiler can make a number of different noises. Some noises can indicate that you need to call a Boiler repair cheltenham company to come in and take a look at your system and repair or replace some items in the heating system. Here is an idea of some of the noises that can occur.

  • Whistling – sometimes you can find that your boiler makes whistling noises a bit like a kettle. This often means that there is a build up of limescale in the heat exchanger which can mean that the system is working harder to pass the water through the narrow pipes.
  • Vibrating – this can sometimes mean that a part has become loose somewhere in the system and this will need to be located and repaired.

  • Banging – loud banging is not a good sign and could indicate that you have a problem with the thermostat or the heat exchanger and you should have this looked at as soon as possible.
  • Gurgling – if you find that radiators make a gurgling noise it could be a sign that there is some air trapped in the system. You can try to alleviate this by bleeding your radiators. It is important that you do this in the right way. You can also check the water pressure in your system and check for any frozen pipes that could also be causing this noise.
